This Privacy Policy explains how Inkwell Notary KC ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information from people who interact with our website at inkwellnotarykc.com or use our notary services.

When you book or request an appointment, we collect:

- Document type and number of signatures
- Date, time, and (for mobile visits) the location of the meeting
- Anything else you choose to share in the request form
When notarial services are performed, Missouri and Kansas law require us to collect:
- Your government-issued photo ID for identity verification
- Your signature in the notarial journal
- The date and nature of each notarial act
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Schedule and confirm your appointment
- Perform the requested notarial service
- Communicate with you about your booking
- Maintain notarial records as required by Missouri and Kansas law
- Send appointment confirmations and reminders
We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or third-party sales.
Information sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
We use the following service providers, who process data only on our behalf to deliver the service:
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Forms, Sheets) — for booking, scheduling, and communication
- Cloudflare — for website hosting and DNS
- Square — for payment processing (no payment card data is stored by us)
We may disclose your information when required by law, by valid court order, or when necessary to protect the rights or safety of any person.
Data retention
- Booking and request data is retained for seven (7) years for tax and legal record-keeping purposes.
- Notarial journal entries are retained as required by Missouri and Kansas law — typically the life of the commission plus ten (10) years.
- Email correspondence is retained at our discretion for service quality and legal protection.
Your rights
You may:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements for notarial records
- Withdraw consent for non-essential communication
